Lessons are held Monday to Friday, 8.30 to 12.00 a.m. There are around 12 to 15 students in every class (15 is the maximum)
While we prioritize helping students to develop their communication skills, we also ensure that there is sufficient grammar focus for those who are learning Italian in order to go on to further studies at University level.
We also aim to provide cultural insights which will help students to fit in to the university context more easily, as well as understanding more about the wider context of Italian society. Students can, if they wish, attend extra “modules” in the afternoon: participants will be able to learn more about the grammar, history, culture and traditions of this country, interacting throughout in Italian, with the aid of the teachers.
These modules take place once or twice a week (between Monday and Wednesday), from 3.00 to 4.35 p.m.; students who are interested can choose the afternoon activities according to their own inclinations and their level of Italian. As every year, cultural excursions will be organized once every two weeks, on Saturdays.
Both modules and outings are open to everyone, at no extra cost.
To allow us to organize the courses in the most effective manner, whenever possible, please register at least a week before the start of each course.
On the first day of the course, there will be an entry test in order to place students in the correct level of the Common European Framework according to their linguistic ability.
At the end of each course, the University provides a certificate of attendance or (on request) a progress report.
